Tuesdays or Fridays | 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM Ages 6–12 | September to June The Passport Program is a full-day, outdoor learning experience designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Each week, students spend the day on the farm exploring, learning, and building meaningful connections. Passport invites children to notice beauty, develop new skills, and grow in community through hands-on experiences.
Program Rhythm Each Passport day is structured around five 45-minute classes, giving students a balanced, engaging, and hands-on learning experience. Every class is designed to build real-world skills, spark curiosity, and nurture character.
Barn: Students learn to care for and work alongside farm animals through daily barn chores, grooming, and feeding. Alongside this hands-on work, they explore lessons in animal science, STEM concepts, and farm studies.
Art: This is a skills-based class, where students build on what they’ve learned over the course of the year. Each lesson is intentional and progressive, helping students strengthen artistic techniques and develop their creative abilities with growing independence and confidence.
Life Skills: This class focuses on both practical modern skills and the “forgotten” handiwork of earlier generations. Students learn sewing, handcrafts, cooking, baking, and other useful home and farm skills that encourage independence, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Body in Motion (PE): All activities in this class are play-based, allowing students to build strength, coordination, and teamwork through games and movement. The emphasis is on joyful activity and the natural development of physical skills.
Plants, Gardens & Bugs: In this class, students explore gardening, sustainable growing practices, soil health, and composting, while learning about plant science, earth science, and the essential role of bugs, worms, and spiders in the ecosystem. Culinary experiences—like harvesting and preparing simple foods—connect their work in the garden to real-life skills and farm-to-table living.
Program Highlights Beyond the daily rhythm, Passport is full of memorable experiences and opportunities for growth. Some of our favorite traditions and unique learning moments include:
Baby goats arriving every spring
Students helping to raise chicks several times a year
Growing food from seed to harvest in the farm garden
Every class includes meaningful, hands-on learning
Students create several take-home projects each session
Many lessons can be submitted to your charter school for credit
A welcoming community atmosphere where students build lasting friendships
Passport offers students the chance to learn, grow, and thrive in a setting that values curiosity, community, and connection to the natural world.
